Santa was attending an outdoor rural sports festival, carrying a 1-liter plastic mineral water bottle.
To keep himself cool, he was constantly shaking the bottle up and down, watching the water slosh around under the brilliant sunshine.
“Banta, look at this pure, clear hydration!” Santa laughed, holding the bottle up.
“The water is filtered via reverse osmosis, UV treated, and ozonated!”
“It is completely sterile.”
“No dust, no bacteria, no viruses can enter this plastic fortress!”
Banta brought out a high-intensity blue light filter lens from his bag and held it directly against the clear plastic wall of Santa’s sunlit water bottle.
Through the filtration lens, Santa could see millions of tiny, microscopic, glowing dust-like particles swirling through the water like an invisible snow globe.
Santa’s jaw dropped.
“Oye Banta!”
“What is this galaxy spinning inside my premium water?”
“Did the factory accidentally fill it with silver glitter?”
“That isn’t silver glitter, Santa-ji; that is an army of microplastics and nanoplastics shedding straight off the walls of the bottle!” Banta said, turning off the lens.
“You think the plastic is an un-breakable fortress, but UV radiation from the sun and constant heat accelerate the physical breakdown of the inner walls.”

“Your water was pristine when it left the factory, but leaving it to bake in the open sun turned it into a plastic soup!”
Santa set the bottle down on the table, staring at it with total disbelief.
“Oye… so the bottle itself is shedding its skin into my drink?”
“Precisely, Santa,” Banta said, handing him a glass jar of fresh water filtered at home.
