“The government wants me to give up my precious, high-profit paddy crop and plant maize, millets, or pulses instead!” Santa complained.
“They are offering a cash incentive of several thousand rupees per hectare, but paddy is my identity!”
“Why should I change my grandfather’s traditional crop rotation just for some invisible water conservation?”
Banta walked up to the podium, accompanied by a group of local village women holding water testing kits and a smartphone connected to a digital piezometer.
“Santa-ji, your paddy identity is running on a high-octane economic deficit.”

Santa crossed his arms.

“We monitor our own water security plans under the Atal Bhujal Yojana.”
