Santa was standing in his modern modular kitchen, holding a glass of water purified by a premium, multi-stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration cabinet.
He pointed proudly to a small plastic pipe coming out from under the sink, which was forcefully dumping a continuous, thick stream of rejected water directly down the open kitchen drain.
“Banta, look at the absolute standard of my lifestyle!” Santa smiled, taking a sip.
“My household RO machine has a digital purity indicator!”
“It filters out every single dissolved molecule.”
“Only the aware, educated, and wealthy section of the community can afford this level of clinical hygiene!”
Banta walked over to the sink, placed an empty 20-liter bucket under the reject water pipe, and watched it fill up to the brim in less than four minutes while Santa filtered just one small jug of drinking water.
“Santa-ji, your digital purity indicator is a moral failure masked as tech,” Banta said, pointing to the overflowing bucket.
“For every single liter of clean water this luxury gadget gives you, it actively wastes three to four liters of pristine, drinkable groundwater!”
“You are running an environmental eviction mill inside your own kitchen!”
Santa scoffed, crossing his arms.
“Oye Banta!”
“The court can pass whatever dictums it wants about banning RO filters in areas where water quality is completely safe and doesn’t require extreme filtration, but who can check inside my private home?”
“I want absolute zero TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)!”
“Zero TDS means you are stripping the essential natural minerals out of your water while bleeding the public aquifer dry, Santa!” Banta shouted.
“The Supreme Court and environmental tribunals have clearly stated that RO systems are a criminal waste of resources unless the baseline groundwater quality is verified as toxic or contaminated.”
“Yet, educated elites are flouting the law daily out of pure status bias.”
“It is the urgent duty of the state to restrict the manufacture of high-waste RO systems and completely ban their sale in certified safe-water zones.”
“If we keep wasting three liters of precious life to drink one, the upcoming water disputes won’t stay outside our borders—they will break out right inside our own streets!”
